What is the Teachers' Insurance Plan?
Founded in 1997, Teachers’ Insurance Plan recognizes that educators are a special class of people who deserve a break for all they do for our children and community. We believe in the unique qualifications and capabilities that our teachers possess and proudly show that support through services to the educational community. Teachers’ Insurance Plan supports the educational community by offering exclusive auto insurance savings and unique benefits and services.
Who is eligible for the program?
If you are a member of one of the following New Jersey educator eligibility groups***, you qualify for a Teachers’ Insurance Plan auto policy:
- Current and retired pre-K – 12 faculty, administrators and support staff employed by a public school district, a certified Pre-K, or certified private, charter or parochial school.
- Current and retired college and university faculty, administrators and staff.
- Employees of state and local education associations (NJEA, AFTNJ, etc.),
- Spouses of all the above groups are eligible as long as a member of one of the above eligible groups is a driver on the policy.

If you are a member of one of the following Pennsylvania educator eligibility groups***, you could qualify for the Teachers’ Insurance Plan auto policy 15% discount:
- Current and retired pre-K – 12 faculty, administrators and support staff employed by a public school district, a certified Pre-K, or certified private, charter or parochial school.
- Current and retired college and university faculty, administrators and staff.
- Board of Education officials.
- Employees of an education association.
- Spouses of all the above groups are eligible as long as a member of one of the above eligible groups is a policyholder.
