The NEA Foundation created this grant as a way to help teachers improve student learning. They give preference to those who wish to use this money to build upon STEM projects, but they encourage any and all educators to apply for this grant. There are two levels of grants to award for the Student Achievement Grant. The first one is $2,000, and the second is $5,000.
Your school must be a member of the NEA Foundation in order to apply. The grant money must be used to purchase supplies needed to fund a project that would improve student learning such as materials, and educational experiences. Indirect costs for the project, and salaries (for example) would not qualify as something the grant money could be spent on.
The application process is simple. Please go to https://www.neafoundation.org/for-educators/student-achievement-grants/ to apply online. There are three deadlines throughout the year for grant submissions which are: February 1st, June 1st, and October 15th.
