MIT’s “APP Inventor” will help your students move from using the technology others have created, to becoming the creator themselves, by making it easy for them to create their own app (in 30 minutes!).  MIT has created a user-friendly  way for Middle and High School students to create their own android apps without advanced coding knowledge. The simple drag and drop platform does double duty– it is easy to use AND it helps students become familiar with the basics of how a computational language (coding) works.  If you only use Apple programs, no fear—the App Inventor provides an Android simulator for Mac or PC (also for free), so you can make an app using either system.
