The 2019 TCNJ Summer Institute for English Language Arts Educators – “Teaching Poetry (without Fear)” – (PD)

The English Department at TCNJ invites Grades 6-12 teachers, curriculum designers, and school administrators to partake in this four day summer institute that will expand educational professionals’ knowledge and appreciation for poetry. Each one of the facilitators is an expert in literature and pedagogy. Topics to be covered include lyric poetry, sonnets, poetic reading styles, and techniques to help students find meaning in challenging poems. English Language Arts Educators will return to their classrooms eager to teach poetry and get their students excited about literature!
