MATH: Improving learning through questioning: How can we ask questions that improve thinking and reasoning? (PD)

Open-ended questions, probing questions, rhetorical questions…the list goes on and on. Then there are questioning techniques which have long been regarded as a fundamental tool of effective teachers. By consciously applying the appropriate kind of questioning, you can more effectively gain the information, response or outcome that you want. Dr. Nicole Panorkou will discuss the different types of questions and how to encourage student engagement in math classrooms.
