Making the Mentoring Process More Meaningful

September 25, 2018 @ 9:00 am - 12:00 pm

$106

About 4 years ago, the NJ Teacher Mentoring Rules changes to better support the TEACHNJ Act.  The Act requires that mentors who will be working with new teachers, be trained prior to working with those teachers. In this 3 hour session, mentors at Making the Mentoring Process More Meaningful will examine the mentoring process and become knowledgeable about what is required of mentors in their work with new teachers.

As described on the website “Practical strategies, skills, information, and resources will be discussed that will help them to successfully mentor novice teachers and positively impact their professional growth. Through role playing, communication skills, and knowledge of adult learning principles, mentor teachers will be provided with resources that will not only help them to become effective mentors and role models but will also expand their own professional expertise.”

The presenter will be Judy Feinberg- former Supervisor of Curriculum & Instruction at Linwood Schools and an Education Specialist at the SRI&ETTC.
