Implementing NGSS Science & Engineering Practices
December 6, 2017 @ 9:00 am - 3:00 pm
$178Three important and necessary elements of Science and Engineering Practices include: 1. Asking questions that lead to learning, 2. Formulating scientific explanations to understand the situation and 3. Creating and constructing models to showcase ideas.
In this spirit, the Stockton SRI & ETTC is providing an appealing and interactive workshop that will:
“–Actualize a strategy (the CER Framework) by which their students will effectively construct explanations and engage in argumentation
–Recognize how and why students must develop, evaluate, and revise their own models to facilitate learning in science and engineering
–Facilitate an approach (the Question Formulation Technique) to deliberately teach students the skill of asking questions
–Explore online resources that provide lessons/activities to promote these practices.”
