With more than one million children in America on the autism spectrum, Gwynedd Mercy University saw a need to educate individuals who work with special needs children. In an effort to do this, Gwynedd Mercy University created the Autism Institute, which hosts an annual conference consisting of hands-on workshops, professional development activities, and educational presentations by highly respected professionals. Participants will learn about the importance of early diagnosis, treating symptoms, and research-based practices for use across the lifespan of a person on the spectrum.
