When most people think of science, they think of facts; a cause and effect; a problem and a solution. However, science is much more complicated than that. In order to truly understand a set of data, one needs to acknowledge variability. The measure of variability chosen to explain data can determine what story is being told. As part of the Data Literacy Series PD, there will be discussion around graphing data and what educators can do to help students grasp the concept of variability and use it in the classroom.
