With the intention of becoming a place to encourage environmental stewardship, Duke Farms offers classes and events on their 2,700-acre property to help others be aware of and take care of their environment. The website explains that in this particular class,

“Participants will receive an array of ready to use lessons and projects that can be seamlessly implemented into classrooms including those that encourage students to reason abstractly and quantitatively, employ models and use appropriate tools strategically.

Environmental topics and STEM connections are woven into these resources allowing students active learning experiences, both inside and outside the classroom. Lessons are able to be conducted at any school using modest supplies.”
