$149This workshop is designed for 6 – 10th grade teachers, pre-service teachers/educators, specialists, math coaches, supervisors.
If you are looking to help your students become independent thinkers who can gather information, process it efficiently, and arrive at real-world solutions– you are probably familiar with Project-Based learning. This workshop will help to prepare Algebra I teachers to create and implement Project Based Learning in their classrooms.
PBL is a student-centered way of teaching that involves organizing the classroom learning and activities to encourage independent thought and inquiry. The idea is that students acquire a deeper knowledge by actively participating in figuring out how to solve REAL issues and problems in the world today. “Participants will explore the 4C’s-Collaboration, Communication, Creativity, and Critical Thinking and develop lessons and tools to implement these skills in their everyday teaching.”
This workshop is best suited for Middle School/High School Algebra I Math Teachers.
This workshop is one of a series of workshops offered by AMTNJ for the summer of 2018. The cost of the first workshop you attend is $149. Subsequent workshops are $119.
